A Mission for You

A Mission for You

A ton of media, marketing, and hype goes towards the highest end of archery equipment. The flagship bows from the biggest brands are at the pinnacle of media attention each year when they are launched. No brand matches Mathews Archery in this respect. The yearly launch of their hunting bows is the biggest archery moment of the year, as far as public attention is concerned, and because of this, many other bows and brands can fall under the radar of the masses. This isn't as true for the other 'big' brands such as Elite, PSE, and Hoyt, but more budget friendly bows, or even the intermediate bows of these major brands, can launch with little to no fanfare. This isn't entirely fair, in my estimation. A ton of recreational archers and archery hunters don't use the 'top of the line' that the market has to offer. They go with what fits in their budget, and what fits them. With the advancement of archery technology, bows from youth budget bows up to the high-end carbon compounds can and do work - and work well.

There are brands that focus almost exclusively on entry-to-intermediate price point bows - Bear Archery is the primary example here - and then there are brands that have 'little sister' brands under them that take flagship tech and apply it to more price-conscious offerings. Whether you know it or not, Mission Archery is just such a company. Mathews owns and operates Mission with the intent of taking their flagship compound tech and bringing portions to the entry, intermediate, and youth markets. Their current lineup includes bows such as the Stryde, Range, Menace, Hammr, and Switch - all wonderful options based on your age, size, and budget. Unfortunately, in many cases, these Mission bows are not available for purchase online as they are bows that you can only encounter physically in pro shops that carry the Mission brand. Luckily for us, though, there is now an exception. The Switch is now able to be purchased online, and that is great news for anyone looking for incredible value in a compound bow. Remember, Mathews designs and builds the Mission bows.

As with many bows of its type, the Switch has extreme levels of adjustability to match the archers abilities and then grow with them. The draw length range goes from 18" to 30" in half inch increments, so that will grow with you from childhood to at least young adulthood, if not full adulthood in many cases (with the average adult male draw length being 28-29 inches, and the average adult female draw length being between 25 and 28 inches). This range works in conjunction with the large amount of weight adjustment - you can adjust the Switch from 11lbs all the way up to 70lbs. This is truly a high-quality bow that can and will grow with you for years.

It comes both as a barebow (meaning just the bow itself) and as a ready-to-shoot package. The package option includes a whisker biscuit rest, a fixed TruGlo sight, and a quick-disconnect Apex Gear quiver. Each of these are solid, easy-to-use options for beginner and intermediate shooters. While it is nice that Mission offers this kit for just a small bump in price, the whole concept of the Switch is that it can grow with you, and that means your accessories can grow too. Start out with the included kit products and then as you're growing up and into the sport, you can always upgrade those accessories independently of the bow itself, which will not need upgrading.

On top of the news that it can now be bought and sold online, we at LAS are also now giving our customers 25% off of both the barebow and package versions of this bow - in all colors and in both LH and RH. This means that the best value bow from the best value company just became an even better deal. You can get Mathews engineering for $380. That is an absolute steal.

As a final point, it is never my intention to purely 'sell' you products that pop up in these articles and blogs. Does our company survive on the selling of archery equipment? Yes. But remember, we exist first and foremost to grow archery in the United States and around the world. These articles exist to bring you information, ideas, and views that we here at LAS are passionate about - if we weren't passionate about it, there would be no point. Personally, I am incredibly excited at the prospect of starting my young children off with their first real bows one day, so the topic of high-quality, value bows like the Mission Switch is one that is near and dear to my heart. I wouldn't have written this if it wasn't.
