Whether you were aware of it or not, the issue with field point sizing has been annoying archers for a long time. Having to find out (which could often be difficult) which size field point matches the insert, collar, halfout, or outsert system you use could lead to mismatched and ill-fitting components. This makes tuning, and removing arrows from targets especially troublesome.
The good folks at Easton Archery have made this a non-issue.
With the introduction of their Match Grade Halfout and HIT collar systems, Easton have made sure that every size of halfout and collar for their 4mm and 5mm arrows match 5/16” field points - whether you want 55 grains at the front of your 5.0s, or 150 grains at the front of your 4mm FMJs, they’re all 5/16”. Do you have different arrow setups for TAC, Eastern hunting, and Western hunting? Well, now you don’t have to worry about having various field point sizes in your bow case. Grab a dozen or two 5/16” match grade field points and you’re good to go.
