Sitka Gear is an industry-leading, outdoor apparel and accessory powerhouse. From their innovative and high-tech camo technology to their gear built for any and every pursuit, they have something suited for everyone. With that, of course, comes the draw back in your wallet. Are there hunting brands that are more expensive than Sitka? You bet there are. Are there hunting brands that are cheaper than Sitka? You bet there also are. Price aside, though, everyone likes a good deal, and any place one can save money when buying quality product should be considered a win nowadays.
It isn't every day that you can encounter a good sale on Sitka Gear products - usually you are going to pay for that level of performance, and that is completely understandable. If you are going to get quality hunting gear, there is no reason to invest in subpar products. Having said that, there are ways around the MSRP you'll encounter 99% of the time when shopping around both in-store and online.
Product lifecycles are always beginning and ending. Products are being 'upgraded' and phased out, or just simply discontinued altogether. For every new product that a company releases, an old item's demise probably isn't far behind. This isn't always true - companies need to expand their product base in order to scale and capture market - but the larger a company grows the more opportunity there will be for closeout products. On the topic of closeout and discontinued products, I want to dispel a response that you're likely to hear. "Why would I want the old stuff?" Well, what if you bought that 'old stuff' a few months ago before they were discontinued? You'd still love those items and most likely use them for years and years. So, I ask, what really is the difference? Maybe something new and 'technically' advanced has come out, but technology in the outdoor space is a slow growth market - a market where advancements are yearly and common but also slow to jump. Your three year old gear is going to work very well, if only 95% as efficiently, or at 110% of the weight of the latest and greatest. Are those few percentage points worth a significant jump in price? For many, sure. There are those that rely on the best gear, and that is totally understandable and acceptable. More power to you if that's how you scout, travel, hike, and hunt.
Now that I've laid out this mindset, who wouldn't want a Fanatic jacket or Fanatic bib for $150 off? Who wouldn't wat to spend $100 less on a Mountain Evo Jacket? $20 less for a Sitka branded tee, why not? My point is, this 'clearance' section of Sitka items is chock full of amazing deals on excellent gear that will work for years and years and years. Don't miss out on a great value just because the sticker doesn't say "New Arrival."
